The biggest problem I see marketers having with video is not the cost. They don't have the imagination to see how it can be used. Video isn't a box to be ticked on the marketing to-do list. It's a tool that you need to understand how to use. Different videos have different uses at different points of your buyer's path to purchase. If you want to spend your marketing dollars on a video about your business for your home page, thats great. But is it going to move the sales needle? I like to use videos like breadcrumbs. A small trail of snackable content that leads my audience towards me and then warms them up to buy. There's a thousand ways to do that. I like to start at the end. What do you want to make your audience feel? Grab their feelings and you've got them for the entire ride! Video isn't a 'nice to have'. It's an integral tool for any business in today's digital landscape. And it doesn't need to be costly or complex. But getting expert help can avoid the mistakes

I've found over time that it's often the smaller, family businesses that can gain the most from telling their story with video. Not only to gain more awareness in their marketplace but it gives the whole company a lift, internally. When your entire team gets on board with the creation of your business video they feel a sense of pride and an appreciation of where they work and what they do. It's motivating. We recently produced this video for the team at Argon Distributors and what stood out to me on shoot day was just how motivated the entire team was to present their business in the best light. They took ownership, smiled and did all that was asked. That is awesome for any business. Thanks, team Argon Distributors!
We recently produced a series of videos for the Mayors Taskforce for Jobs MTFJ which involved 12 days of travelling from the Coromandel to Invercargill. Visiting the regions and discovering how Mayors Taskforce for Jobs MTFJ, Local Government New Zealand (LGNZ) and Ministry of Social Development (MSD) are designing programs and support to get more young people into work. We uncovered some heart warming stories from diary farms, barbers, forests, oyster farms, we got to see a slice of a more raw real New Zealand. It was a reminder to me of all the stories that surround us and how some times a well crafted story really can transform perceptions. We all travel different paths in life and I feel honoured to be able to tell the stories of some of these journeys and I hope at the end of the day they make a difference.
