Moving a Heavy Glass Top Table to the 6th Floor via the Stairwell. Objective: Safely relocate a heavy glass top table to a 6th-floor apartment using a narrow staircase. Challenges: Fragility: Large and heavy glass surface was at high risk of cracking, chipping, or breaking. Height & Space Constraints: Moving down six flights of stairs, with tight turns, low ceiling clearance, and narrow landings. Client Concerns: Anxiety about potential breakage or property damage. Solution Approach: Pre-Move: Measured stairwell and table, planned lifting strategy for the tight turns. Preparation: Wrapped glass with bubble wrap and blankets, padded walls and railings, and used support straps for control. Team Coordination: Two movers handled the lift with clear communication and stop-breaks for safety. Execution: Lifted the top vertically through the tight turns, adjusted angles carefully, and ensured no wall contact. Loading: Placed on padded dolly and secured with heavy-duty straps for transport. Outcome: The glass top table was moved safely, without a scratch or chip. Client was impressed by the team’s strength, precision, and professionalism.
