Construction and road transport manufacturing, parts and service specialists in NZ and Australia.

About us

With over 54 years in business, TRT has developed an unparalleled range of engineering skills and expertise in the construction and road transport industries. Overcoming challenges is precisely how this business got started in 1967. Clever people solving complex engineering problems with ingenuity, and relentless hard work. It's this competitive ethos of solving the unsolvable, finding a way, and just getting on with it, that helps us make things possible for our customers. Making things possible means choosing the better problem to solve, out thinking it, and then by sweating every single detail until it's done, made and, delivered. Tidd Ross Todd Ltd (TRT) is a privately-owned, family business, specialising in the design, manufacture, sales and delivery of products and services within New Zealand and Australia’s road transport and construction industries. Our key areas of business include manufacturing, design and engineering, truck and trailer parts, truck and trailer mechanical service and repair, crane sales and service, trailer sales and heavy transport and equipment design and manufacture.

BIG CRANE LIFTS BIG GEAR Great read from New Zealand Truckbody & Trailer Magazine about C & R Developments and what may be the country’s beefiest rear-mounted crane truck. Going for the Hiab X-Hipro 858 meant they could use the length of the truck body as part of the counterweight, giving it the capacity to lift 18-tonne at a reach of 3.5m or 22-tonne at 3m. They also selected the EP4, which has a four-piece boom instead of the EP6, because they didn’t need the extra reach. “That also made it a tonne and half lighter, which meant we could travel as a normal truck at 24-tonne.” Ben says for heavy lifts, the truck-mounted Hiab is usually used with another crane to carry out a tandem lift, easing the strain on the gear. The new Hiab and another crane are shown lifting a 20-tonne “bathtub” rock tray on and off the back of a 785 Komatsu at C&R. Read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/dSTPz--u

ANZAC Day Arrival The team at Leech Earthmoving Contracting strive for quality when choosing equipment to add to their business and they have done just that, with the addition of a brand new 2024 TRT Quad Axle Widener 🔥 TRT’s double-acting hydraulic suspension, quality manufacturing and innovative design are just a few aspects that make these trailers the most stable and impressive low loaders on the market 🙌 Some of this trailers other key features are: • 2x BPW rear Castor steering axles – linked via TIDD heavy-duty shielded linkage tie rods • Rear Hydraulically operated Widening Stool • TRTs Iconic Stainless Steel Welded Coaming rail Protectors • Water Jet cut, 12mm Heavy duty Conveyor belt rubber, retained with Stainless Cup washers (TRT being one of the only Australasian trailer manufacturers to offer deck protection ranging from Conveyor rubber, Treated Ply, Hardwood boards, Transtex 220 and more). This will be the second low loader in their fleet but with the above features and the trailers ability to widen out to 3.5m its certainly an upgrade! Over the last 40 years, Leech Earthmoving Contracting has been actively involved in all types of civil construction work including road construction and bridge construction throughout Central Victoria. They have constructed many kilometres of local roads and highways including sections of the Calder Highway between Gisborne and Ravenswood. They were also involved in the construction of the Gisborne Interchange. For getting your Civil & Subdivision projects completed on time and to budget then there is no better outfit in Victoria 💪 Last month, Darren Rice, the owner of Leech Earthmoving, visited us in Hamilton. When asked about his experience working with us, he said, “It’s been incredibly straightforward. All I’ve done is have a few conversations with Jeremy and trusted the advice I’ve received. We made some adjustments and I haven’t had to worry about it at all. I simply don’t have the time to worry about it, so I couldn’t be happier.” A big thank you to Darren, his family and the team at Leech Earthmoving Contracting for trusting us to provide a trailer that suits their needs. We look forward to working with you in the future and can’t wait to see your new Quad Axle Widener in action! 🤝 Whether you’re a family-run business like Leech or a Tier 1 company working Australia wide, TRT is the one stop shop for all your transport and lifting needs. We were delighted to host a group of 13 students from Osaka Sangyo University and High School on a tour of our manufacturing facility and head office in Hamilton.   The students were in New Zealand for two weeks studying English. During their stay, they had the chance to live with host families, visit Waikato University and other local businesses, and learn about the contrasts between New Zealand and Japan.   It was a fantastic opportunity to guide them through our facility during their two-hour visit. We enjoyed discussing our OEM-manufactured products as well as highlighting our team and culture.   Our COO Lawrence Baker said, “TRT is a proud manufacturing company located in Waikato. We are thrilled to open up our doors to international students and showcase our values and ethos. At TRT, we have four core team values that guide us in serving our customers, suppliers, and community. These values are Outthink, Outserve, Own It, and Open Minds. As a future-oriented organisation, we embrace changes and continuously strive to improve ourselves to make things possible.”   We're dedicated to investing in the next generation and growing talent within our industry. Opportunities like this enable us to demonstrate TRT's essence to both young minds and individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds, offering a valuable learning experience for all involved!
