Today, 27 April 2024, is one year since the Viaduct Events Centre reopened its doors for events! It has hosted a vast variety of premium events during this time, including the Helloworld Gala Dinner, Dental Expo, The OFC 29th Ordinary Congress, Best Design Awards, and New Zealander of the Year. It put its best foot forward for Auckland Live events including NZ Fashion Week, the Auckland Art Fair, Winetopia, and Takurua. And the venue was at the heart of major events including the Auckland Boat Show, Rainbow Games, Moana Festival, Auckland Wooden Boat Festival. With six versatile events spaces, stunning harbour views, and an excellent Wynyard Quarter location that puts it a short walk from Auckland’s amazing accommodation, dining and activity options, it’s great to have this iconic Auckland venue back doing what it does best. Then we’ll be at Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Event (AIME) in Melbourne (19-21 February) on the New Zealand stand (H1) showcasing our iconic Auckland venues, including Viaduct Events Centre, Aotea Centre and Shed 10, to Asia Pacific’s leading event decision makers. We’ll round out the month at the Auckland Convention Bureau (ACB) Showcase on 29 February, where we’ll network with more event organisers keen to see what our venue portfolio can offer. We've started the new year with exciting team announcements! Our much-loved Business Development Manager, Danielle Ouwejan, is currently on maternity leave and will be away from the business until the end of 2024. In the interim, Vincent Park has stepped into Dani’s role as Business Development Manager on a year long secondment. Vincent’s hard work and dedication has truly paid off and we are excited to see him thrive in his new role. Congratulations, Vincent, on this well-deserved opportunity. In addition, we look forward to welcoming back Charmaine Hylla following maternity leave to the ACVE team from February 2024. She will join Vincent as Business Development Manager in a permanent capacity. With an extensive background in the tourism and business events industry, knowledge of the conventions market and her strategic focus to achieve business goals, Charmaine is an invaluable asset to the ACVE Sales Team.
