The Whanganui River is home to us, and we consider it a privilege to be able to share this wonderful part of Aotearoa/New Zealand with you. Brent is descended from the early Maori settlers to the river, and Claire grew up in a large farming family in the Ruatiti Valley an area also rich in history and landscape.

Our tours are unique to Spirit of the River Jet, and our personalities, commitment to excellent service, and the outstanding natural features of this fascinating area ensure a great time on the Whanganui River and in the Whanganui National Park.

We have the only 6 hour tour to The Bridge to Nowhere - designed with the thought that our visitors may not come this way again, so we make it a day you will remember and treasure.

We have lower river tours - Havoc at The Fox visits an organic B & B for organic coffee and muffins, quite unique, and very relaxing mingling with the locals.

Our jet boat and waka tours are one of a kind, with a mix of culture, humour and native scenery. A fantastic experience - great for team building.

The Mountains to the Sea Cycle Trail (Mt Ruapehu to Whanganui) and the Bridge to Nowhere Mountain Bike Trail (Mangapurua Track) are exciting adventures, and we have complete packages (transport, accommodation, meals, mountain bike hire, and our jet boat pick up at the Mangapurua Landing) to make your mountain biking adventure easy to organise. Bikes are transported on our custom built cycle rack, and are handled carefully.

Tramping the Mangapurua Track, The Matemateaonga Track or the Kaiwhakauka Track is made simple with our convenient packages which include - transport, vehicle storage, accommodation, and our jet boat pick up at the Landings.

We also organise Cultural Marae Experiences at our family marae, Pungarehu. Run by whanau (family) these are authentic and fun, with plenty of opportunity for interaction.
