About Rachel Lambert Jewellery
Established July 2003
Kia ora, I’m Rachel, a jeweller based on the Taranaki coast. I make jewellery inspired by nature, place and memory.
I studied jewellery techniques at Manukau Institute of Technology in Auckland, finishing in 2001, then exhibited and sold through galleries around New Zealand. The work has been featured in North and South, Home and Garden, Urbis and Jewellers Trade. I also spent six years in the UK as a bench jeweller and tutor for an independent jewellery store, so I’m just as happy setting a gem or repairing a treasured ring as designing something new.
My online shop has a variety of jewellery made from mainly natural materials along with precious metals. The majority of my works are unique pieces, individual jewellery of a series (similar but all one-off works) or small batch editions.
I’m also happy to take on bespoke commissions and repairs. Some of the best ones begin with something already loved, like an inherited piece remade into jewellery you’ll actually wear, so the memory stays close.
What I’m aiming for is jewellery you want to pick up and hold, like an amulet or a touchstone, something comforting that helps you feel more like yourself.
I also run regular jewellery making classes at The Factory Workshop, based in Tataraimaka, including silver rings, earrings and seven-week beginner courses.
