About Cranial Solutions Auckland

Established April 2026

Cranial Solutions Auckland provides NasalRx treatment and individual cranial, facial and nasal airway assessments with registered chiropractor John Gibson. Located at Cavendish Medical Hub (Foot Institute), 175 Cavendish Drive, Papatoetoe, the practice welcomes patients from South, Central and East Auckland, Manukau and the wider Auckland region.

Our approach focuses on the relationship between facial and cranial structure, comfortable nasal breathing, and symptoms such as migraines, headaches, sinus pressure and jaw tension. We work with people who want to understand why their symptoms persist and explore a non-surgical treatment option.

NASAL BREATHING, BLOCKED NOSE AND SINUS PRESSURE

Restricted nasal airflow can affect everyday comfort, sleep and the ease of breathing. Some people experience a persistently blocked nostril, mouth breathing, congestion at night or pressure around the cheeks and forehead. Others feel they breathe reasonably well but notice a substantial difference in comfort and airflow after treatment.

At Cranial Solutions, assessment considers the structures surrounding the nasal passages, including the cranial and facial bones, bony nasal septum, maxilla and palate. We also discuss previous injuries, nasal spray use and any earlier nasal or sinus surgery.

Nas alRx is a specialised endonasal treatment used within our clinical approach to cranial and facial function. In our clinical experience, patients commonly report easier nasal breathing, reduced facial pressure and greater comfort following a treatment course. Progress is assessed through the patient’s experience, changes in breathing and physical examination.

MIGRAINES AND HEADACHES

Our aim is to help patients achieve lasting improvement in migraines and headaches, with resolution of symptoms as the treatment goal where achievable.

Assessment looks beyond the location of pain. We consider cranial and facial relationships, jaw movement, nasal breathing and upper-neck function where relevant. Our clinical model also considers possible relationships between these structures and the dura—the protective covering around the brain and spinal cord. These proposed treatment mechanisms are informed by anatomy and clinical observations; they have not been established through detailed NasalRx-specific research.

JAW, FACIAL AND POST-CONCUSSION SYMPTOMS

Cranial Solutions also assesses jaw symmetry, movement patterns, facial tension and symptoms affecting the temporomandibular joint, commonly called the TMJ. For people experiencing ongoing symptoms after a head injury, assessment may consider headaches, facial discomfort, changes in nasal breathing and associated neck or jaw symptoms.

INDIVIDUAL ASSESSMENT AND TREATMENT PLANNING

Your initial appointment includes a discussion of your symptoms, previous treatment and goals, followed by an individual physical assessment. We explain our findings, discuss whether NasalRx is suitable and outline a proposed treatment plan. A course commonly involves six treatments, with progress reviewed throughout.

Patients frequently describe improvements in breathing and day-to-day comfort during treatment. These experiences guide our clinical work, while recognising that each person’s condition and response are individual.
