“Am I seeing everything? Am I aware of all of the things that might be contributing to the way somebody might be engaging with me or the way that I'm viewing the activities, the policies, the practices in front of me?” - Dr Hana O’Regan. Having an equity mindset challenges us to reflect on how we perceive the world around us and what actions we are taking that may be impacting others. In a workplace it’s about how we can support this thinking, to pave the way for productive and inclusive conversations. Workplace equity is… designing an inclusive and cohesive space. Workplace equity is more than just a concept; it's about designing an inclusive and cohesive space where every voice matters. For Aotearoa businesses it included mindsets such as being te Tiriti minded, thinking critically, being aware of power bias and privilege and building trust. But we want to hear from you! What does workplace equity mean to you? How do you strive to create a more inclusive environment in your setting? Share your thoughts in the comments below! 👇 #Equity #NewZealand #Business #WorkplaceEquity #Inclusion #Diversity

What is the equity review tool? 📚 An integral part of He Waka Houkura | The Equity and Inclusion Suite is the initial review. This tool is designed for both employees and leaders to evaluate internal awareness and current perception of equity practices. Assessing your equity practices helps to develop a clear pathway towards designing a workplace with equity. Every workplace is starting from a unique point, and we work together to support inclusive and equitable initiatives for everyone. Had an awesome day at Tātai Aho Rau Core Education on Monday! Ngā mihi to Gemma & Angela (pictured here with our management team) for running an awesome workshop on equity with our whole team as part of an organisational equity review! Being able to honestly reflect on ourselves and our practices through an equity-lens was really powerful, and we are so excited to continue this important mahi with Tātai Aho Rau! Huge thanks to Rātā Foundation for funding this incredible opportunity for us!
