Industrial meets commercial in South Auckland’s new Halcyon HQ & Distribution Centre. As a hybrid development, the building features a 2,700m2 warehouse interconnected with a 600m2 two level office and showroom. The scissor staircase joining the two levels boasts a unique screen and balustrade design by Featurecraft. Our MDF battens with a Black Smoked Oak Veneer create a safe and functional architectural stair system that also becomes a design focal point for the space. Due to the dramatic length of the battens, a specialised clip and joining system was created alongside engineers to ensure premium stability and longevity. The Queenstown Country Club is home to our custom made timber batten Room Dividers. Rich in style and functionality, the battens were created for Warren and Mahoney to help define individual areas within the larger interior space. The battens were custom stained to match other timber elements in the room. Inspiration for the material and colour palette was drawn from the flora and fauna of the region including the iconic mountain Kea. Onehunga High School Tech Block   Finishes were chosen based on which faculty occupied the space, therefore technical subject rooms featured exposed ducting, services and finishes. Featurecraft's Fire Rated Plywood Panels were selected to line the walls of these spaces, offering a raw, industrial look. The panels feature 6mm perforation holes, providing a hard-wearing lining while assisting with acoustic performance throughout the space. Situated on an large Auckland greenfield site you’ll find 6-8 Munroe Lane, a significant 26,500sqm new workplace development contributing to Albany’s evolving business district. Setting a strong precedent for healthy New Zealand workspaces, the building boasts a 5 Green Star Design rating and a targeted 5-Star NABERSNZ rating, an important goal that we were excited to contribute to. Featurecraft’s products were specified and installed in the following locations: Main entrance, lobby and lift lobby walls: Fire-rated MDF Battens finished with a Brown Oak veneer. Main atrium back wall & underside of stairs: Fire-rated black MDF Panels finished with a Hickory veneer. Lift lobby ceilings: Custom black powder-coated aluminum sheets with acoustic perforations. Central atrium bulkheads: Fire-rated MDF panels finished with a Hickory veneer. All products were fire-rated for fire compliance, panels were perforated in specific areas for acoustic performance and acoustic backing was installed behind the battens. All wooden products were FSC certified to achieve the 5 Green Star Rating. 6-8 Munroe Lane, a 26,500sqm workplace development near North Shore’s key transport hub, contributes to Albany’s business district growth. Anchored by Auckland Council, it boasts a 5 Green Star Design rating and features an efficient curtain wall façade. Inspired by Ōkahukura - Lucas Creek, a local stream, the building allows users to traverse its internal laneway, mirroring the creek's east-to-west journey on the entrance level. The atrium on the second level serves as a central anchor, connecting working floorplates with a café, meeting spaces, and an impressive feature stair. Featurecraft’s Fire-rated Birch Plywood panels canvas the impressive ceiling of Taupō's Airport. The panels have been perforated with 8x250mm slots to absorb sound and achieve fire compliance without sacrificing an aesthetic design. The light-toned panels are visually in sync with the other natural elements throughout the space - Rimu trunks from the Pureora Forest and Mauri stone sourced from the Tauhara Quarry.
