Creating confident, curious, life long learners - Brain Play.

Job Opportunity at Brain Play! We are considering expanding Brain Play down New Zealand, and to do so need to find someone passionate about and highly skilled when it comes to education, technology, and working with young people, to help us with this expansion. A quick overview of the work we do: At the moment we’re an Auckland based STEM company who deliver coding, robotics, 3D printing, and science events to communities. We provide after-school classes, holiday programmes, in-school classes, and have contracts with the Ministry of Education, and Auckland Council to reach even more tamariki with our hands on & engaging courses. We would be starting from scratch in a new region, so need someone eager to put themselves out there visiting schools, community centres, and different venues to land contracts and organise programmes. We have 7 years of processes, resources, and successes to support a new team member, and a new location of Brain Play! We are happy to be flexible on hours, and build these up as demand grows, in line with a new team member’s availability. We would be looking to set up a commission based contract (to begin with), so results are rewarded. If this role is something you would be interested in, and you know you have the resilience and passion for launching a project & watching it grow, please send an intro email to info@brainplay.co.nz and include your location, CV, and a small paragraph on why you would be excited to join this project of ours & see yourself being a great fit.

We had a fantastic time at the Annual Transition Expo last week, where we had the opportunity to connect with new communities and share our passion for STEM. It was so inspiring to see the enthusiasm for learning and innovation among the attendees. A big shoutout to Disability Connect for hosting us and fostering inclusivity in the world of education. 🙌

On behalf of Brain Play, I want to extend a huge thank you to the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu and Ōtara-Papatoetoe Local Boards for their incredible support in funding our STEM workshops. Your generosity has allowed us to run multiple events in the community that were free for families, enabling us to reach a wide range of individuals who may not have otherwise had the opportunity to engage with STEM education. We are so grateful for the support from the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Local Board, which allowed us to organise engaging events, including two great Ōtahuhu Library STEM Stop-Ins. These events sparked curiosity and inspired young minds to explore the world of STEM. We thank the Ōtara-Papatoetoe Local Board for their contribution, which enabled us to run multiple events with Ōtara Youth Hub, Tupu Youth Library, Clover Park Community Centre, and Manukau Library. Through these events, we ignited a passion for science and technology among participants. The feedback we received from these events has been heartwarming. The attendees of these events expressed their enthusiasm, their enjoyment of the workshops, and their desire to attend more Brain Play workshops in the future: "Building the robo claw was a great experience. I would love to attend another Brain Play workshop in the future." - Ōtahuhu Attendee "Trying the new programs on the computer was exciting. I enjoyed every moment. Thank you for the workshop." - Ōtahahu Attendee The positive impact we've witnessed and the gratitude expressed by the attendees truly motivates us to continue our mission of making science and technology accessible to all. Once again, a big thank you to the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Local Board and Ōtara-Papatoetoe Local Board for their huge support. Together, we are empowering our communities and fostering a love for science and technology. 🚀
