Asbestos survey discovery - Spare asbestos insulation for the household range cooker tucked away in storage. #Asbestos was commonly used as an insulating material in range cookers and other household appliances due to its heat-resistant properties and affordability. It was particularly prevalent in older models of range cookers manufactured before the health risks associated with asbestos became widely known. In range cookers, asbestos was typically found in insulation around heating elements, in gaskets, or as part of the lining materials. This container was securely sealed, double-bagged, and properly disposed of at an approved facility, followed by a thorough survey of the in situ kitchen range.

Our Tasman team had the fortunate opportunity to fly out to our site this morning via helicopter for an asbestos survey portfolio project, assessing various structures in the Cook Strait of New Zealand. Mike Moir managed to capture this wonderful shot from the track above the helipad, offering a fantastic view back towards the Marlborough Sounds.

Our Auckland team in tandem with Consultex Laboratories mobile laboratory unit has successfully concluded two months of on-site asbestos clearances and analytical work for a development site in the central Auckland area. A trio of consultants and laboratory analysts collaborated with the main contractor and the asbestos removalist to efficiently navigate through the friable asbestos removal phases across six floor levels, ensuring prompt delivery of four-stage clearances and validation sampling on a time critical program. The developer chose Consultex for several reasons: Health and Safety: Our ability to provide on-site laboratories gives the client reassurance that all work is conducted at the highest level of health and safety standards, with swift and clinical analytical data provided almost instantly. Efficiency: Obtaining clearance sample results on-site accelerates the decision-making process, eliminating any standby time typically associated with traveling back to static labs. This ultimately translates into substantial time and cost savings for both the client and contractor. Expertise: We meticulously evaluate each project during the tender phase, offering valuable recommendations and innovative ideas to the client. Our insights focus on identifying opportunities for time and cost savings, as well as pinpointing areas where our resources can be strategically applied to assist in the project's success Contact us to discuss your next demolition or construction project. 0508 292 292 requests@consultexnz.com New Zealand Wide
