    Did you know that May is #MentalHealthAwareness month? 🧠 As we reflect on the importance of this topic in today's workforce, let's not forget it's crucial to recognize not just the role of individuals and #healthcare providers, but also the impact #businesses have on our #wellbeing —particularly on #socialmedia, where #GenZ spends a significant portion of their time. At #Sortlist, we've conducted an in-depth study to explore how companies influence Gen Z’s #mentalhealth through their social media activities. This study sheds light on the often overlooked aspect of corporate social responsibility (CSR) in the digital age. 📊 Here are some of the key findings: 🗻 High expectations vs. reality: while 67% of Gen Z users expect brands to be actively sensitive to mental health issues, a surprising 37% of companies do not consider mental health in their strategies at all. 🧐 Skepticism about motives: half of these users (49.8%) believe that brands championing mental health are doing so merely 'for show.' 💰 Questionable tactics: a third of brands still use fear of missing out (#FOMO) as a tactic in their #socialmediamarketing, which can increase anxiety and stress. 🗣️ Consumer backlash and support: 48% of Gen Z have boycotted a brand due to its perceived negative impact on mental health. Yet, they are willing to pay up to 52% more for products from brands that authentically support mental health issues. 🤝 Need for expert collaboration: only 23% of companies have consulted mental health experts to improve their #socialmediastrategy. Our study emphasizes the need for businesses to act responsibly—because the impact on the bottom line is clear, and the demand for #authenticity is louder than ever.
