Happy Friday. We're in Pink today supporting hashtag #pinkshirtday in Aotearoa NZ.💟 Research on workplace bullying by Prof Jarrod Haar highlights that there is much to do in our workplaces to stamp out bullying. 🤔 📌91.3% have experienced at least one form of bullying in the past 12 months! 📌Frequently bullied workers are 51 times more likely to have severe burn-out! 📌Overall, bullied workers are 12 times more likely to consider quitting. These are just a few of the findings in the research. We can all make a difference. It's a reminder that every action we take, big or small can create positive change where we live, work and play. 🤗 So let's celebrate our diversity and promote kindness and inclusion. Shine bright - don't let anyone dull your sparkle. Izzy our Chief Happiness Officer would agree. 🐾 🤩 Are you in pink today? Would love to see your pics, or hear how you support the cause. It's New Zealand Sign Language Week. 🙌🤟 This year's theme is “An Aotearoa Where Anyone Can Sign Anywhere.” Encouraging all of us to give signing a go. So, to show my support, here's mine. 🙂 I've seen first-hand through a family member how NZSL can help those who are also non-verbal and I'll make an effort to learn more. 🤗 NZSL is one of Aotearoa New Zealand’s official languages, and more than 23,000 people in New Zealand use NZSL in their daily lives. Hands up if you are ready to sign. ✋✋ #nzslweek2024 #nzsl #nzslweekchallenge #newzealand #signlanguage #inclusion #diversity Deaf Aotearoa

Anzac Day. Lest we forget. 🌺

Anzac Day. Lest we forget. 🌺 It’s a day of remembrance to honour those who served and sacrificed for our freedom.   As time passes it’s also important to keep telling the stories.   My parents shared some of what they knew, however, their parents are from a generation that never spoke about the war. So, I went searching for information. Like many families, the stories are unimaginable. ❤ 👇   Today I remember my Great Uncles, firstly my Great Grandmother's two brothers –  who went to war together in WW1 And only 1 came home. It was on 7 June 1917 – NZ troops of the 2nd and 3rd rifle battalions left their trenches on the Western Front and advanced towards the ridge in front of them, on which lay the ruins of Messines Village. In what is now known as the Battle of Messines, Rifleman Colin McOnie was killed in action that day - New Zealand troops paid a heavy price with over 3700 casualties, 700 of them fatal! His Brother Rifleman Geordie McOnie was awarded the Military Medal for Bravery under heavy shellfire at Messines between 7-9 June 1917. The records note “he showed the greatest gallantry and contempt of danger in the face of the hottest shell fire, unceasing in his efforts to get in the wounded and attend to them”. The story is told he was looking for his Brother out there in no man's land. Only 15 days later he survived being gassed in Ploegstreet, near Messines, finally returning home to live a long life – forever changed. I recently came to learn, that another Great Uncle – my Great Grandfather's Brother, Rifleman Frederick Monds was in the same battle, and he was killed in action on the same day – 7 June 1917! They had never met, and it’s certainly not lost on me, that in Aotearoa the 2 degrees of separation we talk about does exist! They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them. #anzacday #lestweforget #newzealand

Lately, I have had a growing number of people in this market reaching out for Career Coaching. Is it a reflection of the changing landscape or is it something more? 🤔 It's only natural to feel apprehensive about putting yourself out there, especially in a competitive market. Here's the thing - those who have reached out have acknowledged the importance of preparation and a support system. 🤗 Career coaching isn't just about polishing your CV or mastering your interview skills - these do help of course. ⭐ If you've ever caught yourself in a cycle of self-doubt, for whatever reason, you will know our inner critic can be tough on us. I can certainly vouch for that. Many of us grapple with the same questions or thoughts - some highlighted so well in this infographic. 👇👇 It's not about ignoring our doubts, it's about equipping ourselves with the skills and mindset needed to navigate the challenges. If you're looking for extra support on your career journey, I'd love to chat. #career #careercoaching #support #worldofwork #fraserpeople

🎈Happy Monday. 🎈 It's often said that change or growth only happens at the end of our comfort zone. But, it can feel pretty safe and comfy inside that comfort zone can't it?! 😅 The fear of the unknown can make me anxious, but if I am willing to feel awkward and uncomfortable trying something new, I'm learning it's where the magic can happen. No one said it would be easy - but if we keep moving forward, those small steps can really make a difference. 💪🤗 So, keep going and see what happens. What step could you take toward that today? 🚀 #comfortzone #mondaymotivation #mindset #outsidemycomfortzone #letsgo #fraserpeople

Happy Friday. Anyone in the job market right now will know it's tough. However, there are good news stories to share, so let's celebrate the positives. Hearing that someone felt supported in their job search, really makes my day. This is particularly heartwarming as it's the first role for Shereen in her new home - Aotearoa NZ. 😍 Congratulations again Shereen and thanks for the kind words, they are very much appreciated. 🤗 Shereen Mager #feedback #testimonial #fridayfeeling #recruitment #career #grateful #people #loveyourwork #fraserpeople
