Welcome to the Woodcraft Gallery est.1986 Situated in the historic Arts Centre est. in 1877. The Woodcraft Gallery was started in 1986 to promote fine New Zealand woodcraft. The gallery is proud to feature the largest collection of New Zealand’s top woodcraftsmen and women. Our emphasis is on fine design and high quality finishing using the unique and beautiful timbers of New Zealand. All the wood used in the pieces exhibited has been sourced in New Zealand from sustainable forests or recycled from fallen trees or old buildings. We provide information on all the timbers used as well as information on our artists. Our range covers one-off bespoke pieces of art, a beautiful collection of turned bowls and vases, handcrafted boxes, drawers and jewellery boxes and many other items which would make wonderful gifts or mementos of your visit to New Zealand.
