CHILD & FAMILY SUPPORT (MANAAKI WHANAU)

We have trained kaiatawhai (social workers) who can help with the following:

· Identifying family problems, offering options and solutions

· Whanau hui for wider family issues

· Advocating and supporting with other agencies or government departments

· Referring to other agencies or services that can help you with specific problems

· Mentoring and support for individuals

· Home management advice and support for young mothers

· Interviewing whanau who are able to offer short-term or long-term care

BUDGET SERVICE

We are affiliated to the New Zealand Federation of Budgeting Services and have qualified budget advisors who can help with the following:

· Individuals and whanau who are having problems managing their finances.

· Individuals and whanau who want to set financial goals for their future.

HE ARA TIKA MENTORING PROGRAMME

We recruit and train voluntary mentors to work with Maori secondary school students to ensure:

· Fewer leave school prematurely

· More go on to complete post-secondary school studies

· More go on to achieve their true potential.
