The Brown Pub, previously named New Zealand's Best Country Hotel at the HANZ Awards for Excellence, is located right in the middle of town and offers the Main Bar, the Fireside Bar, a family restaurant, fresh, clean affordable accommodation and naturally a great time. The restaurant menu includes NZ Green Lipped Mussels, Herd Coated Lamb Cutlets, and Venison and Malt Ale Pie as well as old favourites including the Roast of the Day, Steak and Egg Burger, and our Famous Brown Pub Hoki . There are 10 rooms upstairs providing budget accommodation in single, twin, triple and quad rooms with clean fresh linen and warm duvets. Shared facilities include showers / bath, communal TV lounge and spacious outdoor deck. The community style atmosphere is perfect for group bookings such as sports trips, weekend get away adventures, or just a bunch of friends on a winter skiing or snowboarding holiday.
