About Rotorua Aero Club Inc
Rotorua Aero Club promotes all aspects of aviation to the people of Rotorua. Founded in 1938, we have a long history of involvement with the wider Rotorua area. Previously, the Club has operated the Wunderflites flight-seeing brand but now focusses on recreational aviation and ab-initio training. Flight training and flight experience flights are available in our modern, high performance microlight under the watchful eye of one of our experienced Flying Instructors. Flight experience is also available in one of the member's mid-range SkyRanger microlights.
Microlight training time can contribute in part to total flight time for a Prvate Pilots Licence or can culminate in a Microlight Licence. Microlight flying requires less stringent medical standards than a CAA medical does. If you can drive a car you should be fit to fly a microlight. Costs are overall much lower than flying a General Aviation aircraft.
Our aircraft, ZK XLI, is a modern, two seater, side by side, all metal low wing aircraft with a Rotax 100 hp motor. It is also available for training with an instructor and for hire to approved members subject to currency.
