Nashmir - About Nashmir and what we do.

04/09/2017 Russian translator Natalia Galvin (Ostrovskaya) was born and raised in Belarus. She learnt Russian and English, then studied English at International House in Minsk. In 1999 she emigrated to New Zealand as a consequence of the catastrophe at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
Natalia holds a degree in Economics, a Master's Degree of Professional Studies in Translation with First-Class Honours and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Translation Studies. Natalia is a certified Specialist Teacher of English as a Second Language (TESOL), a member of The New Zealand Society of Translators and Interpreters and is an authorised translator for the New Zealand Transport Agency.

Our goal is to promote cross-cultural understanding through written language. This is why we named our website 'NashMir' which means in Russian both 'Our World' and 'Our Peace'. We sincerely believe that through mutual enrichment and understanding between cultures, religions and civilisations, we create one peaceful world."
